Albany, NY (September 5) 10:30 a.m.— The American Red Cross of Northeastern New York (ARCNENY) has given emergency aid to one family, representing seven people, after a fire at their Blanchard Loop Road home in Gloversville this morning.

Disaster Action Team volunteers responded to the scene at approximately 8:30 a.m. after being contacted by local officials. Volunteers have worked with the family, consisting of three adults and four children, to provide financial assistance for food and clothing.

In the coming days and weeks, Red Cross volunteers will continue to work with the family to provide more aid if needed, and help them develop a post-disaster plan to get started on the road to recovery.
